Abstract

Dental disease poses a significant challenge for children with autism, necessitating effective testing methods to assess and address oral health issues. This comparative study evaluates the utility of traditional dental examinations, radiographic assessments, and salivary testing in children with autism. While traditional examinations offer direct visual insights, radiographic assessments provide detailed information often unseen. Salivary testing emerges as a promising, non-invasive tool that may complement existing methods. By combining these approaches, healthcare providers can tailor interventions to meet the specific needs of this unique population, enhancing oral health outcomes for children with autism.
